Newly Acquired Firm Brings Extensive GIS Resources PDF Print E-mail

CoreLogic has acquired Harvard Design and Mapping Company, Inc. (HDM), a leading provider of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to businesses and governments worldwide. Founded in 1988, HDM has provided sophisticated GIS solutions to agencies throughout the federal government as well as Fortune 1000 companies and large regional utilities.

GIS technology includes computer platforms that can assemble, store, manipulate and display geographically referenced information. We'll be combining the best of HDM's geographic data and technology resources with our own to bring an added dimension to both existing and future products.

For example, the combination of HDM's InsMapTM natural hazard analysis with CoreLogic's portfolio monitoring and flood risk products will create a comprehensive picture of any property or portfolio's risk exposure. Integrating both companies' disaster impact assessment products will result in superior new management tools for lenders and insurers. And our combined resources will create best-in-class technology for accurately locating properties throughout the world.

HDM currently has offices in Massachusetts and Virginia. The company's founders, Kija Kim and James Aylward, as well as chief technology officer Dr. Wei Du and senior vice president David Chadwick, will remain with the company. Serving as president and CEO, Ms. Kim was recently honored as the 2006 Massachusetts Small Business Person of the Year. She will represent the state next month at SBA's National Small Business Week Celebration in Washington, D.C.
