Introducing Elevation Certificate Services from First American PDF Print E-mail

When your customers need elevation certificates for purchasing flood insurance or requesting Letters of Map Amendment (LOMAs), they may come to you for assistance. With CoreLogic's new Elevation Certificate Services, you can make the process easy. Simply give your customers a Web address, www.elevationcert.com, or a toll-free phone number, (877) 877-5964, and we'll take it from there.

An elevation certificate shows the ground elevation at the base of a structure and the elevation of the first finished floor. It helps determine premium rates for flood insurance policies, and is also required as part of a LOMA application to remove a structure from a Special Flood Hazard Area.

Obtaining an elevation certificate normally requires the property owner to locate a surveyor and schedule a survey. With our new service, we arrange for a local surveyor from our nationwide network to oversee the entire process. When the homeowner first contacts us, either by phone or online, we'll provide a free, no-obligation quote. Once the customer submits a firm order, the surveyor will make contact to coordinate access to the property and complete the survey, and the elevation certificate will be delivered within 14 business days. Payment may be made by credit card, via phone or online through our secure website, at the time of the order.

As FEMA's map modernization initiative progresses, many properties will have their flood zone designations changed when new maps are released, and more of your customers may need elevation certificates. If you wish, we'll provide a customer information sheet and a customizable letter you can send to inform them about the requirement and how to obtain a certificate.
