The FloodCert.com website now includes a new educational component called Flood University, designed to educate users about important topics within the flood industry.

CoreLogic Flood Services' training manager Ann Yakimovicz says the new feature was created in response to customer requests. "Learning more about the industry itself will help our customers better understand how developments within the industry can affect their business," she says.

"Making the Flood Zone Determination" is the first of the modules. The easy-to-follow format demonstrates how determinations are made, what resources are used to make them, and other aspects of the process. The module includes visual examples along with both a printed script and an audio narration. There's even a chance to apply what you've learned by making a determination on your own. Ann says additional modules on other topics are in development.

Tina Gawronski, assistant vice president of Timberlink Settlement Services and a frequent user of FloodCert.com, says the new module offers "some of the best training and mini-sessions I've ever used." To access the module, log into FloodCert.com with your User ID and Password, then click on Tutorials in the left navigation bar. Under Flood University, click on List of Available Programs > Making the Flood Zone Determination.
