Wednesday, 22 July 2009 00:00
Issued today through a notice in the Federal Register, First American Flood Data Services is currently reviewing the revised "Interagency Questions and Answers Regarding Flood Insurance" (Q&A). This version of the Q&A replaces the 1997 version and provides guidance to lenders on complying with federal flood regulations. Included with the new Q&A are five additional questions and answers related to insurable value and force placement that the federal lending regulators (the "Regulators") are proposing and eliciting comments on until September 21, 2009. Also included are the Regulators' responses to many of the comments received during the previous comment period that began when the proposed Q&A was issued last March.

In the coming days, we will provide an Industry News Alert regarding more details about the content of the Q&A to those clients who have signed up for such alerts. If you are not currently receiving these alerts, you can sign up on our website.
