Go Beyond the Flood Zone with Flood Risk Score

FEMA insurance underwriting guidelines have traditionally relied on whether a property is "in" or "out" of a federally designated flood hazard area. Yet, historically more than 25% of flood insurance claims come from properties located outside of these hazard areas. For lenders this means that although thier properties within the flood zone may be covered they may have significant risk to assets outside the zone, assets that are not backed by standard insurance policies.frs_pic_2

The First American Flood Risk Score is a more advanced and precise risk assessment tool that identifies; high-risk properties outside of designated flood zones, lower risk properties inside these zones, and includes additional key risk factors such as the presence of levees and dams. First American's Flood Risk Score provides this advanced level of risk assessment on both riverine and coastal surge flooding.

Primarily used as an advanced tool to enhance underwriting capabilities, the Flood Risk Score can also be applied to loans and loan portfolios, offering enhanced aggregate analysis capabilities.
